Dealer had my car for a month...BMW told them to try a smaller belt. No more noises.

But now I have a broken clip on the ground strap and a want for a 535d (528i doesn't cut it, powerwise); glad to have my diesel back though.

my dealer replaced the belt and pulley, and had to have the car for 9 days to do that. They said that they had to talk with the bmw office in germany. however, this seems to have fixed my squeak, as I have not heard a noise in 3000 miles since they replaced the belt.

As it relates to you 2011's are affected. Had mine replaced with an OEM belt before they found an aftermarket solution, still squeals like a mofo after it sits in the summer heat for a while. Plan to get the new belt installed next summer when it starts squealing again.

Curious, I've not heard any squealing, but then again I didn't have the car until late August and missed most of the hot days. Guess time will tell.

Ditto. I have had my 2010 d for 2 years now and no belt squeals (knocking on wood). I also have 44k miles.
