removing front shocks

found this diy to change shocks on an m3, would it be the exact same to change shocks on a 3 series standard or a different guide can anyone give me another link

it is very similar to that, yes. you may need to use the spring compressors while the shock is still in the lower mount to give you more fender clearance though.

i've currently got a set of apex rdx coilovers on there whch wasnt fitted by me, they've died so got bilstein b14's which needs to go on there. do i still need spring compressors.

if you already have coilovers, it's easy - no compressors needed. just lower the spring perches all the way down so you can compress the shaft, and you'll have all the clearance you need.

might not even need to do that, depending on the coilover.
