Anyone install a Dinan S1 on 335IS yet?
Hey all,
Wanted to hear if anyone had a chance to install the Dinan Stage 1 specifically on a 335is yet. I love my 335is, the initial launch is amazing. That overboost for the turbos is amazing however its only good for the first 7 seconds on agressive acceleration. I'm beginning to notice it only kicks in when you take off from stop or at the most rolling in slower speeds. My only complaint is between 50mph+ I don't that rush of acceleration because the overboost doesn't feel like it's going on. Honestly, it feels just like a n55. I'm thinkin of getting the Dinan S1 because it states that you will have continuous overboost at anytime. Anythoughts? |

I'm thinking of doing the same.2011 335is 6000mi,But since 1/21 the Dinan site does not show S1 for 335i or 335is.In emails rep say available but suggest S2. Blogs state no huge change with S1 and go with S2. Other tuners cheaper but no warranty and have to uninstall for BMW service.

Ya don't get S1... after long research... its worthless and since the IS comes with the extra coolers, S2 is just a simple softwear as well...
JB4 and COBB is great too but price vs warranty... you decide. |

S1 on a new 335is would be almost a step backward. If you have money to give away for a tune, I can send you my old K&N Drop'n for the same price that will actually give you more than what the S1 will... Sorry, but if you really want to make some power go with the JB or PROcede. If you doing meth and want to track day the car, go with the PROcede. If you just want WOT, both put down about the same power... What ever you do, just have fun and do some research before you spend your money.

Makes no sense to put Stage 1 on this car, it will be going backwards. Start with Dinan stage 2 instead, just plan on changing rear tires within a year

I would highly recommend Dinan S2 to relieve you of any warranty concerns; just be aware that it will also relieve you of the 7-second "overboost", as it overwrites all that code. Instead, you get the higher boost without limiting it to 7 seconds. Cobb would be another thing to consider, but again, you're gambling with your warranty. If you spent the money to get a 335is, the Dinan S2 cost shouldn't bother you.

Been there for Pacific sailfish. A Panamara is a big 4 door sedan made by a little German company Porsche. Like you didn't know. Thx for asking. You try Dinan S2 on 335i or is?
Been to Stockholm Vasteras, like your country. Last edited by DaleP; 01-26-2012 at 04:05 PM.. |
