Custom exhaust....anyone interested?
I'm working on getting Atspeed racing in Laurel to make me a custom exhaust for the coupe. Atspeed is a professional race shop that has been backed by Volvo NA for several years running the S60R race cars in Gt. They also tune and race porche's, stock cars, and everything in between.
The shop manager told me the R Gt car would run circles around any other car they have in their shop, that is saying something considering what they have their.....GT3's....GT2's....etc. When I wrecked my tuned R 2 Decembers ago I got a good contact there that expressed interest in making custom exhaust and full headers for E39 M5's and the like when I was going to buy one of them. He told me they were interested in getting into the BMW aftermarket scene. I'm going to approach them for the 335 and see what they can do. I just want to put a feeler out there to see how many people in the area would be interested (obviously cost dependent) in full custom exhausts. I was thinking 3" stainless pipe w/ mandrel bends, x pipe, and magnaflow mufflers to magnaflow tips. I have not been able to take a peak under my car yet, so I dont know what is involved for the downpipes. Can anyone shed some light on that or have pics of the downpipes so I can discuss with them? Here are a few shots of their shop and their R race car. And yes, that is a full 18 wheeler INSIDE the shop....sick. :rocks: :rocks: :rocks: This shop = Heaven. They do some great work. I'll let you all know what I can work out.

Haha....yes, i want the world.
Price is very important. But also important is the SOUND, (obviously), i do not want a high pitched, noisy system. A low rumble at regular driving, and an "agressive sound" at full throttle. Not a high powered lawnmower sound. Another important aspect, would be DOT/BMW Warranty compliance, i can ask my dealer about this when i pick up the car.

I am interested as well. Price and sound will dictate my decision. Also I want to keep the car VDOT legal.
The Borla exhaust is about $1,100 if I recall properly and my dealer gets 20% off. |

I'm going to have to agree! Their shop is heaven
Last time I was there they had a fully gutted Cooper MINI race car w/ a fully built turbo engine. The ultimate go kart.
