Sunroof malfunction ?!?!???

I don't know why but my sunroof is somewhat broken. it still has its electrical abilities but it just opens about 2 inches and goes up thats it. Computer show me just that sunroof picture and big exlamation mark. i dont how how that happened i closed my sunroof went to CVS came back and this poped up without touching sunroof can somebody help me ?? i was trying to find resolution here but could not find any PLEASE HELP !!! THANK YOU !!!

You could try the Sunroof Initialization routine - that may fix it...

To initialize your sunroof:

Get in your car, put key fob in the slot and turn the car ON (i.e. don't start it - just push the start button with your foot OFF the brake/clutch)

Next, push and HOLD the sunroof button up (vent position). After about 15-20 seconds, the sunroof will vent. CONTINUE HOLDING THE BUTTON UP. After another couple of seconds, 15 or so (might feel like a long time, but keep holding) , the sunroof will close, then open completely, then close completely.

Once the sunroof has closed completely, the proccess is over. It's important that you do not let go of that button while the roof is going thru the initialization process.

Warnings might come up on i-drive or the on-board-computer. That is normal during this initialization
