Let me start by saying that my 07 is running strong. I have 80k and I am trying to do some pm to keep it running strong for years to come. Manuel says it\'s almost time for o2 sensors and I was wondering if anyone has tried the Bosch splice kit on their car. It looks like it can be used in any location but I\'m worried that I may compromise the dependability of the car using a splice kit. Sensors in the kit are like $50. Full sensor with oem plug is like $120. I did my own dp install so the work itself is not a concern. 4 wire splice kit should be simple right?

I've heard some ppl trying it and in some cases they were fine with them for a while...try it, it'd be interesting to know how reliable they are...

I have done it on other cars successfully. I remember telling myself at least on one occasion that the small difference in price was not worth the additional work.

In this case it is a large difference in price and utilizing a Bosch sensor, which is the important part. I say go for it and report back. Make sure the wires are properly heat shielded, especially in the splice area..

Well I agree, but also realize that this is an item that is replaced every 50k+ miles, I would rather just install the proper part.

I am assuming that with catless DP's and a JB4 there is no need to replace the sensor

Say wha?!? Every 50k they're supposed to be replaced?

I am getting a code from the rear when DP fix is not connected ( an uncommon code that says that the sensor is not plugged in). I am convinced that the rears are of little benefit with catless dps and jb4. I wanted to do the fronts first, in hopes that more accurate readings from new sensors would help the car to run strong.

The rears should be fine. The fronts are wideband though.
