No plug and play solution LED (or even HID solution) will be under $100, and still impress you. The LUX H8 V3's (at $249 @ luxangeleyes.com) are expensive, but a ton of people recommend them, simply because they are the brightest plug and play solution around. They look great at night, but during the day, they just don't hold a candle to the E92 LCI angel eyes. However, an HID angel eye kit from Camaross or Alpine (not to be confused with the stereo company) will be quite bright during the day. However, at night, they're almost too bright, to the point where the rings just become blobs of light, and it can actually be bothersome to other drivers. The best solution for daytime visibility and nighttime crispness are the OSS rings (or building LED rings yourself...not easy, and I don't recommend it for you). You send Luis@OSS your headlights, and he opens them up, throws in the rings, seals them back up, and sends them back to you, and that will set you back in the neighborhood of $500. Not cheap, but looks quite nice. You may be thinking "but I found these angel eyes on ebay for $49, and they look crazy bright in pictures!"...trust me, they're not. It's easy to make a picture deceptive if you know how. |

Make your own LED and google the how to. I would if I had the time and patience. Radio shack has all the parts. You know I think there was a DIY LED on here. Search it.

I tried them out, but wasn't too impressed. They were OK at night, but couldn't see them all that well in the day. Switched to LUX H8 V3s and was very impressed. However, there are some that do like the City Visions. It's all personal preference. As said above, be careful with the pics as they can be deceiving.
My recommendation would be to spend the $260 and go with the LUXs, but for ~$100, the City Visions are probably your best bet, especially if you are looking for ones that just look good at night.

Bright (or even Good) Angel Eye - Paying over $100 = Bad Angel Eyes, including the way it looks at night lol

Basically, any $$ you spend on only buying a different bulb, same type as stock, but with different K value - is a WASTE of $$
Trust me, I went thru MTec, GPThunderII, and another I don't even remember. I used each set of these bulbs for about 3min just to see how they looked. Still have them all in the pkgs. setting on a shelf in my garage. Just save up till you have enough for Lux V3

You must be really young. lol.. Camaross and Alpine HID angel eye kits come in different Kelvins. Go check out the sponsors section. Maybe you should consider not spending money on whores for about a week or two.. maybe a month depending on what quality of whores you're into (cheap from the looks of it) and you'll be able to get yourself something that is worth your money

Hmmm I'm disapointed to see there are no facts given about lumens or wattage or anything related to actual brightness. Just blind responses.
The most popular are our 40 Watt Angel Eyes but for the H8 there are brighter solutions. We have a 60 Watt H8 Angel Eyes and an 80 Watt H8 Angel Eye version. The 60 Watt is plug and play and the 80 Watt requires some custom modification. I tell all my customer to go for the 60 watt unless you are a real handy do-it-yourself kind of person. The 60 Watt is just slightly over $100 and it's arguably the brightest angel eye for the dollar. Otherwise the 40 Watt is still the most proven and it's priced under $100. Edit- Who bumped this 3yr old thread! |

LOL, not this thread again...... The 5-series used different headlights and a unique LED fixture designed specifically for that purpose. The rings are desgned to allow for them to be as bright as they are where as the E92 angel eyes are not deigned the same way. If like your comparing apples to oranges so there is no answer.
