So you hear the noise even when you are not moving?

It's more audible when I'm standing still in neutral gear.

I had a similar noise a few months ago....but it just ended up being the heat shield rattle. You probably have something else going on since it goes away when you press the clutch. The noise I had was present regardless.

Sounds like a clutch throw-out bearing, had this problem in my 1997 M3 with a stock clutch.

I honestly thought it would have been a lot faster than it appeared to be....

Hi Tom
Sorry about your clutch, weird it would give up with just a "small" amount of abuse

You plan on getting the Act clutch from the US or have you found an European dealer? going with a lighter flywheel as whell?

On one af the rewievs here from a clutchmasters, I could see in a picture it said Sachs on it, but if you visit their homepage they don´t listen anything above 500nm

Wow, I am very suprized at the Bentley. I was thinking of picking a used one up to play with, but now I'm second guessing that.

Hey Big tom what Boost are you running? Stock Turbo's?

Sounds like throw out bearring. That is exactly the way it sounded on my Eclipse when they went bad. I had 3 go bad.

Sounds exactly like throw out bearing on my Stealth TT. On those cars it was only noise, it didn't do any harm.

I just had my tranny replaced 5000km ago. My car makes a much milder form of the same noise you are experiencing. I think the dual mass flywheel springs are not toleranced correctly.

I've got a pretty good deal on a ACT clutch from AR, but if you know a dealer based in Europe just tell me!

Could be the springs on the clutch. BMW is notorious to have them go. Not sure about the e90 platform but definitely on the older E30 E36 ETC

You should check out top gear solutions for the clutch. My boy just got hooked up from him and he price matches or beats if you let him know.

Checking with them right now if they're willing to match AR's price.

Nice run against the Bentley but that beast weighs 5200 lbs lol, my Touareg SUV weighed quite a bit less than that and that was already a heavy car.
