Should I go and have my car and hpfp updated?

Well I just got a Cobb AP...and of course I have an unknown Rom which is cool Ian and Chris have been very helpful and they are working on a fix. The dilemma is I have a really old progman and I don't know if I should go in and get the recall and the update done. The car runs perfect no fp codes or wg rattle issues. I just have that if it ain't broke don't fix it mentality but am I wrong?

I was on my original pre 26.2 prog on my July 2007 build car, never had anything done to it nor anything go wrong. I had the same feeling as you and resisted for 4 years. I finally went in and got the recall done - new HPFP, injectors and software.

Car pulls stronger, runs a bit smoother, has a bit more lag, oil temp runs about 5 degrees hotter and exhaust sounds louder.

If you're not in the recall and out of warranty I wouldn't touch it. If you have an extended warranty, you'll probably have to do it to maintain that (I extended the warranty on my car before it ran out).

The only risk you run is being in a situation where your car will no longer crank...but usually you can tell when the hpfp starts to go. IMO, just wait unless you have to in order to maintain warranty...
