F*ckin 335 keeps going into limp mode

Today as i was entering the express way i gave it some gas and and a yellow icon appeared that was apparently "limp mode" and the car had no power at all. I restarted the car and all was good until i gave it some gas again and the same message appeared. This really sucks as im only 17 and i get no rental car.

The icon im pretty sure is limp mode because i looked it up in the manual and it says reduced engine power drive moderatley

oh well i guess off to the dealer

you must have a cooler (being a manual) ???

if so I'm surprised your car overheated ??? or just went into limp mode at 240 ????

There are a number of conditions that can cause a car to go into limp mode, not just overheating.

Only sport package cars have the oil cooler (whether AT or MT). I was at my dealership today and looked for the coolers on all 4-door 335is and only the sport package cars had it. I test drove a non-sport MT car and got the temp up to 275 on a normal test drive!

I just wanted to be sure everyone was clear on this. . .

I have a 6MT 335i with SP and have not been able to get it over 240 even when I ride it hard. Thank you for that oil cooler.

I think that the temp should not go beyond 210. I think the pointer should stay fight in the middle.

Why did it take so long to mention that this is a hp fuel pump problem?

FWIW, I do not think most people on this site are under 20. If they are, please kill me.

Not seen to many older
top of your class? that's TOO much!

Maybe you think you deserve it, but you haven't paid any "dues".
One word: spoiled. If your parents can afford it, so be it. Just hope
you appreciate it and don't do anything stupid. It's not worth more discussion and I can hardly believe I'm posting this.
