Distribution Block
Hi,
After checking my distribution block, there is no metal connector in any of the slots except the first one which already have a red cable in it. Do you know what is that cable? If is it for the OEM amp, can I use that line to replace with JL Audio XD600/6? What do you think is the best way to wire the 12V power? |

I have read not all the slots are populated

I have read not all the slots are populated with blades (fussible links)from the factory and on checking mine found this to be true . Whats is in it depends on which options were shipped with the car. I have seen instances of people running one of the free slots and blowing out that strip on here so I would go for one of the main terminals on the battery. If you blow any of the needed fuses on that strip you have to replace the whole thing. There are three hot lines that run toward the front of the car in the attachment. I think it tells you what they are but unless you have a free slot that is double wide I wouldn't use it at all. Last edited by ctuna; 08-18-2011 at 12:55 PM.. |

The mystery of the distribution block fuse amp ratings has been solved!
The ratings are (PN 61146971370) From inboard to outboard 250 (bolt on terminal) 100 80 100 IBS (apparently dedicated for the Intelligent Battery Sensing...so unknown) 50 100 Hardwire (last slot) |

Has anyone bought this part at a bmw dealer?
My block is also poorly populated with fuses, but I have already prepared cables with oem connectors for 2 amps. Seems like there is only one part number (61146971370), and no option for how many fuses there will be. So, I wonder if it will be fully populated with fuses, if I just order a new block. |

Don't know which connector is right...
Universal socket housing MAK8, uncoded 2 POL. 61136925166 Universal socket housing MAK8, uncoded 1 POL. 61136925176 One of those is white, the other is green. Part #'s are from RealOEM, and I've ordered them from the dealer, who somehow manages to get parts to me (usually) overnighted. |

Yes, those 2 connectors are correct. One is the dual connector (2POL), the other is single (1POL). I bought them both. But these are just connector housings. Don't forget to buy the actual connectors as well. If you for instance buy one single, and one dual, you would need 3 connectors. They have part number: 61136920092 |
