Bmw Station for apple iphone

Looks like the BMW station is about to hit the shelf.

I think the mounting solution on the e8x looks a bit more OEM and tidy as oppose to the e9x.

Installation time 1.5 hour and coding required. It's probably going to be $$$$$

Just posted in case someone was as curious as I.

E9x on page 18(only drawings so far)

Very cool.

Too bad it isn't an iPad station.

I posted this in the UK section...

Thought I would start a thread on this as it is now out in Germany.

This is the iPhone docking station that gives you BMW connect, Internet, Music and Bluetooth in your car.

Know facts so far.

Unit is €199 and the fascia on the X1 is €50, but presume it will be the same tray used on the 1 series as they do for nav portable so around £40.

You can also add full Euro nav for €49.

Available for 1 series, 3 series and the X1 and X3.

Fitted to an X1....

I was sent the install instructions over this morning but told not to give them out yet.
So here they are.......

BMW iPhone Station Install Instructions

Be interesting to add comments and info as we get them to this thread.

Sure it will work without coding, however manual selection of aux will be needed, where as it will automatically select it when coded. My guess anyway.

Not available in UK yet. 15.08.2011
But is available from Germany.

However, the software is not available from the UK App Store either, so no real point ordering from Germany as yet.

Not sure how many will fancy this in the E9X as it is no where near as neat, but copied this thread from the 1 series forum anyway.

I don't see why this would not work for pre lci cars.

It basically replicates a hard wired phone kit and turns the aux input on automatically when you play music from your iPhone or get a call etc.

No, you can't fit it if you have bluetooth.

I was told it goes through a module that's only on LCI. I can't find the email anymore, though. I may have deleted it.

Wait. It doesn't work if you have Bluetooth? Really? Arggh. That's so frustrating. Can I dump bt? I'd prefer this to having bt.

Im pretty sure it works but obviously you would pair with the car and not the dock if you wanted steering wheel control. ecoveon has BT and he was the first purchaser and he hasn't reported issues with it. The install instructions say give special consideration to cars with BT but do not say its unworkable.

6NN incompatible with Station

My dealer has told me that the Station is not compatible with the 6NN installation I got (BT). Has any of you look at a solution to install the Station with the 6NN?

thank you,
