Angry Engine Mounts Recall

Ok so my power steering took a dump the other day on my 335i sedan as I was exiting the freeway so I had it towed in to Long Beach BMW the next morning. When I get there they tell me that my power steering belt had came off. Anyway they were going to fix it in like two days. Then I call back to get some updates and they tell me that the engine mounts are what caused my power steering belt to fall off. So my service rep tells me that whenever I hit a bump, the engine mounts hit the turbo which then causes it to hit the power steering belt and that's what made it fall off. They said that the mounts were way to low and that they were on backorder because BMW has reengineered them. Didn't completely understand the technicallity but anyway my sales rep told me that this would become a recall on all 335i models pretty soon. ANYONE HEARD OF THIS???

Seriously I hope there isn't a problem with the engine mounts. I've driven my car so seldomly that even if these defects exist, I haven't uncovered them yet. Good luck fellow 335'ers.

If they have already processed the "recall" and it seems some time ago, due to being a backorder with dealers, anyone having a recent 335i should be good to go.

Ruan, when was your build date?

Not at all bud. It's one of the most exciting things on the road. I love mine. It's always wise not to listen to sales reps. Sometimes they just talk crap.

Don't let these things get you down. This can happen to any car - Keep driving and Enjoy!

Recall requires notification of all owners, a TBS or update is much different. The latter is preformed as needed or when the car is in for other issues. I have not received anything from BMW.

If there is an issue, do you think that it is limited to the e90, or will also include the e92?

yeah buddy maybe you should drive one...it is leaps and bounds better than a 330 and can beat e46 m3's....what are you talking about.... one or 2 problems here and there and mostly in one area...this is totally new news to me...most people it seems has no problem whatsoever with there 335 whether it be an e90 or e92....sounds like your a lil jealous..hence the need to say something stupid like that....haven't you every review stating such!!! and on forums people tend to state there problems...so far there is the fuel pump...the oil cooler situation is fixed at least on my car since it is a march production i got most of the updates so i am good to go even with hd radio...so you might wanna go test drive one and get the shock and awe like everyone else!!!!

Let's not get off-topic. So far it looks like no one else has this problem. I will take a look under the hood tomorrow and check the clearances. IMO the SA's comment does not make sense. The turbo hits the Steering belt???

Look all I'm saying is that this is what I was told. I'm not saying my comment makes sense. Hello! That's why I made this thread to see if anyone else knew what I was talking about. I'm not a BMW tech so don't expect me to know every single thing. All I know is that BMW 335's are the S**T!!!
