Can be a couple of things. If the clutch is hesitant, it's because of the clutch delay valve.

If you push the gas pedal, and feel a second delay in power, that's something else..which is normal. It delays the engine by a second or something of that nature. I read it on the board, but forgot all the details.

It delays between shifts? Damnit! That is why I got a manual in the first place...I wanted to be in control of power delivery, not some computer.

Only solution is to delete/modify CDV.

Can You Elaborate Further? I Feel Like I Cant Launch The Car Without Revving Up To 4k Rpm And Letting The Clutch Off. Feels Like The Clutch Needs A Second To Pick Up Then The Car Moves. But Never Experienced It Going Into Second Gear.

I have a description for what mine does during very fast lift throttle 1-2 shifts.:

It falls flat on its face! Momentarily it's totally off boost even though I'm at WOT.

I would like to attribute it to the DTC/DSC but it still happens with both disengaged. I do have 26 years of shifting experience and I do not have trouble shifting quickly. If I shift slightly less quickly I get no loss of boost. It does not like to be rushed into 2nd. All other gears for me are no problem.

I'm not sure if this is related but the other day when I took a test drive in the E90 335i w/ sports pack at the dealership, it seem to have turbo lag or at least I think it's turbo lag. I was going around 20mph and then I stomped on the gas (not too hard) and it took about 2 seconds before the car picked up. It might of been a second but I did feel it lag. I thought that the car was suppose to have torque at around 1400rpm. Hope there's nothing wrong, because my car is coming next month.

Btw, it was an automatic trans.

You have to fully warm up the car before it comes alive =)

Naw, mine is removed and I feel what the OP is talking about. Theres a slight hesitation before the car gets power going. I think this might be the heavy dual mass flywheel in effect here. You dont feel this in the higher gears because you arent trying to shift as fast in those. Just my guess at least.

According to all the car rags BMW has virtually eliminated most turbo lag but they say that it's there if you look for it. If you are on the edge of the RPMs where the torque curve is and stomp it you are likely going to find some lag. Having driven turbo SAABs that have more turbo lag I've kind of learned to "roll" onto the throttle as the boost increases. I'm sure the need to do this is less with the BMW and the smaller, fast spooling twin turbos, but at low RPMS this is probably still necessary to avoid the on/off switch feel of the turbos spinning up. Most people who drive turbos figure out over time to keep the RPMs above a certain limit but that's not as necessary with the 335i I don't think. Of course this is all speculation because, well, my car is somewhere on the Atlantic right now . . .

I'm a little confused. I know the car hits max torque at 1400 rpm, but isn't that a function of engine load? So if you're cruising around at 20 mph in 3rd gear (assumption) and you stomp on the gas, the AT will downshift and the turbos will build boost. But if you were in already in a lower gear, the engine would have been loaded differently and therefore you would experience less delay. Is this correct?

Yeah my question was more related to load. I know how the car reacts when in the proper gear, but I trying to address the whole turbo lag issue in terms of engine load.

Especially if you do that after you have pushed and held the button that makes that yellow exclamation point with the circular arrow appear on your dash. Hard on the tires, but it is a hoot.

Its definitely not the dsc, I turned that off, no difference, its also not turbo lag..the car has very little if any turbo lag. Like clem said it falls flat on its face unless revved up to 6-6.5k in first gear, then the tires will chirp a bit in second and keep on going. Anything less than that it feels almost like power delivery just stopped..I keep expecting it to slam me into second but it doesnt!
