Will let you know- previous two cars were 335i touring (company car) so never worried about mpg and a focus st2 which drank fuel for fun! I bought the 318i as needed to balance fuel costs and the current deals on 318i sport plus meant it would take years to recoup the extra for a diesel but aware that residual may be an issue but again that was factored into the good deal offered

Love those alloys, and the stripes are okay - can't decide if I really like them but they are different.

Going from 335i/Focus ST must be a bit of a drop, but then I know where you are coming from going from a 325i E93 to a diesel Mini!

As previously mentioned, I think it looks great with the stripes. You'd only get away with it in white though.

My 318d will average 48mpg for a whole tank. 70% motorway at 80mph on cruise the rest is town driving.

You only see amazing MPG if you stick to 70mph. It's starting to free up a bit now and feels a lot quicker (4500 miles) so the mpg may improve.

I was impressed seeing m3-fast's gunmetal (i think?) wheels against the white paintwork.

What are those stripes, do BMW put them on?

the 335d's mpg needle was sitting at 50mpg at 90mph the other day... in germany i was, little trip over there with the mrs.
