The manual not helping, Garage button HELP!?!?!?

08 BMW 335Xi is what I have. The manual confuses me, I do the steps with my remote transmitter and hold the #1 button on the mirror and still its not synching or reading my remote?

I just need some advice how to use the mirror buttons instead the old school remote that I have inside my Bimmer.

Does your garage door system have a rolling code? If so then you must push the "learn" button on the garage door system (the box that opens and closes your garage door) and then hold the homelink button. I suggest following the manual of the garage door system.
