Ok so when I went into my vehicle status screen in my I Drive this evening (I have a 2011 e92)..I noticed this screen.

"State vehicle inspection"... It also allows me to alter the date when its due...weird. Has anyone seen this before? What is this? lol

It seems like you input the date of your next inspection, and the car will remind you. Can't say I've ever seen that screen before though..

The "State Vehicle Inspection" remainder is set by you based on the date your vehicle is inspected by your state, and only if. In other words, because you never physically set it -and thus the reason of your question- then the date already set when you bought the car is showing up now.

Just change it to your actual inspection date or a date 10 years from now if there are no inspections in your particular state and that's it.

The only inspection in Georgia is for emissions tests, which are linked to your tag renewal, which is tied to your birthday.

Since you don't have to have an emission inspection until the car is 4 years old (I think), you can just input your birth month, and you'll solve the problem.

Keep an eye on your tag renewal date; it's the exact date of your birthday, not the month of your birthday. One of my wife's friends got busted in Atlanta for this, and payed a $250 fine to the city. She thought it was the month of her birthday, and thought wrong!

Ok coool....I bought my car july 2010. I actually just renewed my tags today (it was damn pricey!) bc my bday is aug 31. Since I have a 2011, ill just set it for 2014 or so...

Thanks again...its so weird that I never noticed that in my idrive. Oh well
