No don't do it . If you buy the Audi you will only end up selling it in 6 months time and buying another BM.

If you really want a change then ........... get another three with a bigger engine

Just read you want a diesel. Then go test a 330d or 335d before you make your mind up.

330i M Sport to A4 diesel is a big downgrade!! Could understand if it was a sideways move to a TTS or A5 coupe, but I would go for a better 3 series. Maybe a 335i or 335d, or even an M3 if you can aford the running costs!

One of my friends has an A4 (except it's made in China, not Germany). It's nice inside. Stuff works, it's well put together, things are well laid out. The stereo system craps on the standard BMW stereo.

Seems like a reasonable swap to me, if you feel like a change.

330i to A4 diesel? Unless its the 3.0TDi I wouldn't even think about it. I was looking at a diesel Quattro A4 at the same time as the E91, and they just don't stack up.

For the same money, you get so much less with an Audi. You'll either get an equivalent year/mileage with much lower spec, or an equivalent spec that's a good couple of years older.

The Audi book figures for MPG are significantly lower than the BMW equivalent engines, and they make significantly less power, too. Add the Quattro to that and the difference gets even bigger.

Go drive a 330d or 335d at the same time as an A4 - I'm sure you'll pick the BMW hands down.

A friend has a4 and its nice but the diesel engines are slow. 3.0 TDI was ok but still pretty slow when compared to a 335d.

Buy my 335d if you want something fun :-) 340bhp and 39mpg

I had an Audi. It was boring. And did someone mention 'brand dilution'?
