e92 320D - will it be available in 204hp ? (Belgium)
Hi there dudes,
I have to order my E92 - 320D around august - september I guess to have a delivery end of the year - to start driving begin 2008. My (double) question is : 1. Will the new bi-turbo 204hp be available in the E92 and if so when ? 2. Does anyone know of certain promotions that will become available between now and september - october ? Like free leather - free beer in Europe (Belgium) ? Thx m8s. |

Updated BMW 3-series next in line to get Brake Energy Regeneration tech Posted on Monday 16 April 2007 BMW debuted its new Brake Energy Regeneration technology when it first released its updated 5-series saloon back in January. The facelifted 1-series hatch followed soon after, it too featuring the fuel saving technology. Now, Dutch website Autovisie.nl reports that we’ll soon see the same technology on the updated 3-series sedan due in October. The Brake Energy Regeneration system uses a beefed up alternator and battery to recycle previously lost energy, in turn saving fuel. This is achieved as the alternator reduces drag on the engine by only engaging when required to charge the battery, whereas a traditional alternator is always pulling power from the engine. Some models will also feature an automatic start-stop function to save fuel. The system automatically switches the engine off when the vehicle is stationary and restarts when the driver engages the clutch pedal before pulling away in a normal manner. A third fuel saving device is the electronic power steering system that only draws power when assistance is required, such as turning a corner. Gasoline powered models will also benefit from BMW’s latest high-precision fuel injection features, which on the 320i, for example, will lift output from 150 to 170hp. The 320d, on the other hand, is expected to debut BMW’s super efficient 400Nm four-cylinder diesel. http://www.motorauthority.com/news/s...neration-tech/ |

Well the problem is, BMW confirmed that the 204hp 2.0 bi-turbo diesel will be available in the 1 series. They didn't mention the 3 series. If there's a 320sd with 204hp ... who would buy the new 325d with 197hp?

If you want 200hp, why don't check the Alpina D3? That's an awesome car; nice engine upgrade and much better ride than the standard 3-series.
The other option is the 330d with 211hp. Very nice with lots of torque... Hendrik

I could go for the 163 and pay myself for an "upgrade" to 200hp. So a standard 204hp is no problem, that's the reason I want to go for that one |

That's too bad... but like you said, upgrading it yourself is a very good option. I also did it and the conversion is great
I have driven the 320d many times and you also can't go wrong with it! Excellent choice! Hendrik
