Problem disconnecting battery negative terminal

I am trying to disconnect the - terminal of my battery. After I took the 10mm nut off. the clamp is loose where I can spin it around, but won't come out. Am I suppose to just yank it harder or what?

Also of all the DIYs regarding the battery I've seen, the negative terminal is just a clamp. but on mine (08 E92 335) there is a black plastic cover over it. It say intelligent batterysensor on it or something. Am I suppose to take this off first? How?

Thanks
