Resetting the TPMS

Okay, earlier today I decided to reset the tpms system and for some reason its still "resetting." I was wondering what experiences others have had in resetting the suckers and if there was some "secret" involved.
I still have the stock tire set up and thought a simple reset would just test if my tpms are active and functional. Right now there is that annoying yellow flat tire light and the "tpms resetting" in my nav. I have idrive.
IF anone can help me out with this id greatly appreciate it. Tried the search but no info on my dilema.
Thanks

air up your tires, reset it and drive. it should get back to normal after a few minutes of driving. it has to be driven to re adjust.

How far have you driven since you reset it? The system can take several miles of driving to complete the reset procedure. I doubt there is any problem, but if it is still resetting after your next drive of a least a few miles then call your SA and ask about it.

It should only take a few hundred feet to reset. I know when I first reset the system... I really wasn't resetting the system. You have to push the button once to get the checkmark next to reset.. then... push and hold while the little clock spins. Hold till the clock stops spinning and the little window shows your temp, etc again. Driving down the block always resets the system for me. I've never had it takes "miles". Please correct me if I'm misinformed.

That is the old FTW system... the new TPMS is a wee bit different, though conceptually the same. It also seems to take more driving to set the system than the old system did.

You would use the stalk to set it.
