Being the leadfoot I am...surprised at the mileage yesterday

I averaged 29.4 mpg, according to the computer, on my trip from Fernley NV to San Jose CA...AND I was averaging about 83 mph. Yes, a bunch of it was downhill ...but still..this was an unexpected occurrence. BTW, it took me 3hr 35min to get 294 miles...thru mountain passes.

My '02 M3 would get 30 mpg driving from Reno to the Bay Area. Of course, a lot of it is downhill so your figure sounds about right.

I've averaged 30.1 mpg twice between Phoenix and SoCal in my 330.. and that's at some pretty high average speeds. Awesome!

This isn't that uncommon, i take about a half hr drive on the 101 every day and my MPG is in the 28mpg to 29mpg range. This all changes once I hit the city however
