Akrym Carbon Fiber Lip HELP!!

I've installed front lips before (had an OEM lip on my E92), but have been having trouble getting this lip to stay on.

I used double sided tape on the front of the lip (made sure I cleaned both the lip and bumper, so it was free of any dirt or dust) and used the existing holes under the bumper to mount back end of the lip.

If I drive around and then look at the lip, the front end of the lip will be falling forward, and there is a gap between the bumper and lip (double sided tape comes off, using 3M).

Has anyone had this problem with this lip or have any suggestions?

These are general guidelines, but I would (as a first stage), make sure it is a warm day, clean the whole area with isopropyl alcohol, use your 3M tape, perhaps then (lo tack) tape it up, then wait at least 4hrs for the tape to cure.

Failing that, you can buy adhesive primer that you brush on before you put your tape on, and failing that, use a urethane glue like Sikaflex (pro's use it all the time - it's as strong as an ox, but flexible).

Also, there are various grades of 3M tape. Have you got a hi-po version?

Oh yea, if you do use 3M tape, make sure you get the right kind and use shorter pieces rather than one long one. So if you start to have issues, only that short piece will come off and not the entire tape.

You can't really see in this picture, but along the middle part of the lip where it meets the lower part of the bumper - its just hanging off. Pressure gets put onto the front of the lip after bolting in the screws in the rear of lip to the bumper, then when I drive I think air gets in causing the front to separate from the bumper.

why dont you try using a heat gun to heat up the tape a bit (it'll make it stickier) just for the center and then hold it on your bumper until it sticks and then put the bolts on?

Maybe you should reread the previous post to get a better understanding of the situation. Thanks?
