Steering Wheel Button reverse....

Ok i did some searches but couldnt find anything...

One of my BIGGEST pet peeves on this car is those damn right hand steering wheel buttons.. the ones that adj. the iDrive menus up and down..
Is there ANYWAYS to invert these buttons..

Right now If i put UP on the button it moves the cursor numerically up.. but actually DOWN on the iDrive screen..
I want to push down on the button and the iDrive menu actually go down..
for example...
I have a cd going and it is on song 5...
I want to go to the next song which is down (6) on the screen but i have to actually click UP on the steering wheel..
Is there anyways to change this?

Turn the steering wheel really fast so it's upside down and push the button you want, then turn it really fast back to normal.

I suggest you experiment first in empty parking lots.

Thanks for having a good attitude, my response was my way of saying "I don't have a friggen clue" but I envisioned myself when I was a youngster and someone bet me I couldn't flip my handlebars around on my 10-speed while riding. Well, I thought, if I was going really fast, it just might work... I lost that bet and still have the scars on my elbows to prove it. :rocks:

Don't get me started on this steering wheel. I have so many pet peeves about it. Why did they change it from the E46 layout, JUST to change it. It doesn't make any sense over the old one. Couldn't they have just added the AC recirculating button to the E46 layout? Why have radio controls on both sides of the steering wheel??? I HATE having to take my hand off the stick shifter to change a station or a track! WHY WHY WHY???

That's funny!

Actually, it is logical - but it's a perception issue. I tend not to be looking at the screen when moving through tracks, perhaps because I didn't have iDrive in the past - but "up" is logical for "next track" and "down" is logical for "previous track".
