1 Week Impressions

I drove my E90 all week and have some observations.

1. The guy I bought it from said you could not "lock" the doors from the key fob and have to use the key. So for 3 days I did that until I read the manual. I want the 3 days of my life back!

2. I drove up till today in stock format. The car was stronger than I expected. The 0-60 was quick but the 60-100 in 6th gear on the interstate is even better. I enjoyed driving through the mountains on the way home from picking it up.

3. I-Drive only took me 3 days to memorize the common "key strokes" for me. I not can do most functions by feel and not looking at all the prompts.

4. I 6'2" and 240lbs, I played D-1 sports in college and do not think of my self as big but the sport seats are really not the most comfortable with my wide frame. But hey if that is all I have to bitch about I will live.

5. After not driving a 335 before I bought mine I am very glad I did not go 328.

6. I installed the Cobb stage 1 93 map this morning before heading to work. All I can say it the whole way to work and home.

7. Had an E46 M3 Coupe pull up beside me on a 3/4 mile long "protected" on ramp. Protected meaning median between us and the highway and no other on ramps connected, it is a 2 lane on ramp. He has been ridding my bumper before I got onto the ramp. I slowed down and let him beside me at about 20mph. Before it was time to merger he was a solid 1 car length behind. The look on his girl friends face was priceless, I think she was more disappointed than him. The Cobb made all the difference on that. I am sure he did not expect a stock looking sedan to walk him.

8. I am too old for the shit above but it was fun. Flame away.

9. I see why people are willing to put up with the hpfp and other issues with this car.

10. I look forward to learning more on here.

If you don't like the sport seat, I'm sure you can found somebody to exchange yours + $.

BTW, what was the issue with the fobs?

Did the guy you buy it from not know that the BMW logo locked the car? I bet he didn't know you could adjust the seats either !

About your little "race", you are never to old to enjoy a safe sprint against another car.
Like you said, you were on a clear, protected on ramp. No one's going to flame you for that; this forum isn't full of d-bags.

Like Columbo, just one more thing. I have averaged 21mpg so far this week. That is probably one of the most impressive things yet.

485 on ramp at 85. Saw a while coupe today at Jasons Deli on Woodlawn that was tastefully modded. First time seeing a while coupe in town, liked it a lot.
