Service today...angry!!!
Right. So booked in for service. Requested that they DON"T 'wash' the car. (as it has taken me a few goes to get the paintwork looking good without swirl marks)
Turn up to collect it at 5pm. As they are scrubbing it with their manky sponges!!! Argggghhhhhh. Then, they have moved my drivers seat!!!! So another few weeks to perfect my driving position AGAIN. I hate dealers. Period. |

I can quite easily drive the wife's car off the drive without moving the seat all over the place. Muppets. They were only driving it 100 yards FFS.
Maybe I'm over reacting. I'm only 5ft 1in though so maybe they needed to move it to get in!! |

have you thought about buying electric memory seats on your next car so you can press 1 button and it wll go back for you or even better seats that are programmed to the key.
I hope they left your steeing wheel and mirrors in the same position or that would be a hassle.

The washing thing is a pain though. I've given up asking them not to wash it. I should add though that Sytner Sheffield are excellent |

I was at a VW dealer once and I was collecting my car after a service. I could see the car from the window, asked for the keys but was told that customers weren't allowed in the service yard and they had to bring it round for me.
I then watched the woman at the service desk get in my car, then proceed to adjust the seat, the headrest, the rear view mirror, both side mirrors, the steering wheel reach and the seat belt height and then drive my car literally 20 yards to outside the door. I was furious! Fortunately BMW Swindon have always obeyed my instructions to not wash the car. |

Guys forget about the damn seats; I think the worse part is the way they wash your car. Those towels see 20-30 cars a day before being washed or reused the next day.
Swirls are a pain to remove comparing to just replacing seats.

Why not leave a note or card in the car, stating you don't want the car washed, with a polite 'thankyou'. I know other BMW owners do that.
As for the seat, etc., what's it take to adjust the seat back to your position, 10 secs? Even with manual settings it isn't a problem from my perspective. BTW, my dealer asks if I want the car washed at each visit. A good relationship with the guys in the garage also helps. HighlandPete |

I'm not 5ft 1" just thought it would be a funny thought.
It does annoy me when people move my seat. It did take me ages to get the seat position right. I do 1,000 miles per week and do find it difficult to get comfortable. After a good nights sleep, I'm feeling a lot more relaxed about it all. Thanks for all the comments of ridicule and support. Good banter as always. |

I have a little bit of tape on the seat runners to mark my seating position so that I can quickly move it back again.
I agree though, takes me ages to get into a comfy position.

The washing thing is very annoying but I do find it surprising that anyone would mind their seat being moved, but everyone to their own I guess!
My dealer story was from when I had a previous car. Arrived at the dealer to find they had the rear seats down and were using my car to transport tyres from one part of the dealership to another! Somewhat surprised.
