Brake Lamp Went out, Is this covered under Warranty?
My car recently starting giving me the Left Brake Lamp malfunction code, when i step on the brakes i can tell that the left side isn't as bright as the right side, looks like 1 bulb is out, would this be something covered under the extended warranty?
the dealership wants to charge 140$ to look at it , and if it's not covered.. well you already know..

not covered under warranty.
the bulbs are not covered. the bulb holder is. my car is in the dealership right now for some crap and i asked them to look at the code i was getting. said it was 46 to change it but they only charged me 5 last week to change another. i was like ummmm just charge me for the bulb. ill change it myself. also, the sensor can go off even if the bulb isnt blown. it was explained to me that a drop in resistance in the bulb can set off the sensor which appears to be the case for me. |

Covered under the 4 year plan
The break lamp is covered. Had it done myself (brought the car in for a few other things as well). If it is past the 4 years, probably not.

I'm past the 4 years already and 50 thousand miles, all i have is my CPO warranty...
which right about now seems useless lol. Wouldn't Cover clutch, battery, window switch, and now brake lamp.

Dude, it's seriously easy as hell. Just pop off the cover in the trunk and you have access to the rear assembly.
Don't know about CPO but mine was covered under warranty. You should be able to get the bulb at any auto shop...
