Offset question with 245/35/19 Fronts

A quick question. Currently I am running a 19x8.5 et35 front wheel wrapped with 245/35/19 Falken 452s --- stock sport suspension. On full lock I miss the oil cooler vent by 2-3 mm.

I am thinking of switching to 19x8.5 et30 fronts and swapping the tires. Will this increase my chances of rubbing on fender liner? I don't think it'll rub the fender itself, as it seems there is enough clearance there for another 5mm push.

Would I be better served to go down to 235/35/19 and eat the cost?

Thanks.

If you are worried about hitting the guard or liner, you could get the Dinan camber plates to give you a bit more clearance.

I had 235/35/19 with an 8.5(+35) wheel with 5mm spacers and I don't remember rubbing on anything fully turned.

Pushing the wheel 5mm further out and retaining the 245 tire would increase the chances of rubbing during compression and full lock on the fender liner.

This is what I feared, and also what I thought. So, I will need to go down to a 235 front should I run et30 on the front with 19x8.5 wheel.

Thanks.

You could just try it with your current wheels... bolt on a 5 mm spacer and see what happens. I am running 19x9 ET31 with 245's and it clears the oil cooler grill by about 1 mm. Each car has a slightly different fit and finish.
