Brake Light Warning came on
Started my car this morning and the brake warning came on in Yellow. Checked everything turned the car off for a few minutes and then back on, the warning stayed on. Drove it for 100km, came home - took another look under the hood - started the car on again and the warning was gone. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm just worried about it coming back on and brakes malfunctioning - Car only has 800km

Just got off the phone with my SA - They gave me an appointment for next Tues, he said to keep driving it.
Not impressed. They should take a brake light more seriously |

Just painful to see little annoying things happen. You read about them, but makes you feel down once it is your own baby. I'm looking forward to ripping the loaner though - lol
Lets see what they will give me. |

Why don't you have someone check the function of your brake lights while you press the brake pedal and confirm whether there is an actual problem or not.

Do you guys always let the dealer make you wait a week to get in to get a significant problem looked at ??? I just drive over and let them know what I expect. Have had very good luck doing that. Hope it continues.
BTW - they really hate it if you raise hell when a new perspective buyer is looking around.......

btw, they probably drive your car to shit when they "go for a test drive to make sure everything's working fine'
treat them with respect, and they will do the same Appointments are there for a reason, the dealership is not there ONLY to serve YOU, be reasonable, you can't just show up and expect them to drop the other customers that have MADE AN APPOINTMENT just so they can work on your car

My car is in today - Dropped it off this morning to get the light check out. They gave me a 328i sedan. Man I didn't know there would be such difference btw. 335 and 328 - it's unreal. 335 is a whole new world.
Since it's a loaner - I'm redlining the 328 on every shift. Trying to enjoy it as much as possible. :rocks: |

I had the same thing happen as well. Right rear break light malfunction. I had my girlfriend push the peddle and no probs with the light. It happened 3 or 4 times and then just seemed to correct itself. I haven't had the warning light in probably 2 weeks now.

Problem with dropping off a car without an appointment is that there is no loaner vehicle available. Appointments will secure the loaner.

Heard back from the dealer - They said the entire DTC unit needs to be replaced. Since they don't have the part, looks like my car is going to be there for a week +. Will keep you posted on how it turns out.
For now - I have a 328 -> very different |

I actually just brought my mother's car in for service this morning ('05 325ci) since I started it and the yellow brake light came on. The car has over 22k miles though, so i'm pretty sure it needs new front pads. Too bad this local dealer doesn't offer a loaner car.

^ Railgun needs to stop writing jibrish - If you read the thread properly, you will understand the seriousness of the issue
An update - Got the car fixed. Dealer had to replace the entire DTC unit. Car only has 1400kms. Happy to be on the road with my 335 again |
