Oil leak from Gasket and Oil Pan??

I had my turbos replaced on my 335i a month ago under warranty. Right after that my oil started leaking. Took my car in to dealer to have oil leak repaired. The dealer will not take responsibility, they said that gasket and oil pan need to be replaced for $1,000. They said neither of these parts would have been touched during the oil change and replacement of turbos.

Seems very odd that they won't take responsibility considering the leak started right after the service.

Any thoughts? The car is way under on mileage but just passed the 4 year mark. Shouldn't they be able to do something.

Obviously I can't concretely prove anything.

I had the same problem but it was after a oil change. The dealer fixed it under warranty for me. I think its a common gasket problem.

Mine is having the same problem now. After replacing the crank shaft and bearings, now I get an oil leak. While putting it back together, the tech broke a bolt in the pan. Repaired it and still leaking while testing at the dealer. They are fixing it under warranty. Wasn't sure how common a problem this is? Any thoughts?

Most likey your Oil Filter Housing Gasket is leaking and is a simple fix. This is another common failing item on the e9x platform. See this DIY - http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=476419
