3100 Hesitation - Is the throttle system reset at service?

As I have found twice now that after a service when I think something akin to a throttle 'habit learning system' is reset the car does not hesitate.
Yet after a day or two of driving it is back.

Does anyone know what is happening and how I may formulate this into a course of action that BMW could take to solve this infernal problem.

For heavens Sake BMW get this sorted.

This is a common problem with 2.5 litre, non-US, 325i's. When was your car built and do you know which verion of CIP or Progman you have. It may need a software update at the dealer!

MMVI - We've exchanges messages on this before, as my 325i also suffers this 3100rpm dip & surge in acceleration.

Dealer just keeps saying no fault codes shown, so nothing wrong.

It's beginning to get on my nerves again, so am thinking of raising it yet again.

Also saw recent posts about somebody who contacted senior BMW management in Germany (about 335 fuel pumps issue) so am thinging of doing similar re the flat-spot issue.

My car hasn't yet had a service (due in about 4000 miles) so don't know if it that temp fixes it for me, or not. Sounds like you can perceive a difference, short-lived as it may be.

My s/ware was updated, but several versions ago, and made no diff. I'm thinking of asking for an update to Program 25, as that also fixes the CD run-on problem I also suffer from.

Carl-d - do you have any more info about the common software probs on non-US 325i cars?

check this http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6824

this was fixed in Sept 05 production but there was also a new problem with Progman 23 with lumpy cold starts (I have this currently). Waiting so see how 25 turnsout as there are alreday updates. Do a search on Progman.

There will not be a fault code in the car's systems but you can demo it to dealer with a test drive - this should be enough to promt a software load under warrenty. The 3100-3200 rpm hesiation is a engine software issue - hassle your dealer, ask for the Master Tech or Service Manager. Or find something else wrong with the car's software and ask for a fix as this will also get you the latest engine software. Again, search on Progman and review the faults it fixes then claim its an issue for you.

Hi Shoread..

I can categorically say that after a service and after a progman (I have CIP19fitted to try and fix this problem) that something in the engine makes this problem go away for a day or two. I am convinced that it is a habit or personality reset that takes a while to fall back in at which point the issue comes back.

I have read elsewhere on this site that after a service people can feel their car does not respond the same and that this is probably the same affect.

Re the latest update. My Dealer does not want to know. They say that BMW veto updates and that they are only done if absolutly necessary.

I would like to insist that they do it but I dont think I will get anywhere.
I contacted BMW CS and all they did was call the dealer, and got the same brush off, useless.

We really should write or do something.
