New e92, how bad is stock radio?!

I am purchasing a new 335i cp, I wanted to add the HK radio but it has to come with BMW assist, blu tooth and the Ipod adapter. 2K worth! I was wondering how bad the stk radio is and if the Ipod adapter is necessary? I know there is work around for the Ipod adapter (the usb connector i think), but does the sound quality suffer? Thanks in advance

It should be called the almost adequate.
If you don't turn it up you can live with it but if you do it
falls apart .
You should get a cd of your favorite music and go down to the dealership
and sample both systems (a cd or mp3 with high quality source music)
The good news is the Hi Fi (stock in US in all but 2010 and early 2011 builds) is the easiest to modify but you need to spend
about 1k or more in parts but you will end up with something better
than the logic 7 upgrade. I think most people with a high quality aftermarket
install are at 2 to 3k if they can't self install.
The logic 7 is really hard to upgrade because of the fiber optic connection to the
amp so be sure you will be satisfied with that if you go with it.

man bmw really kills you on options that should be standard now

I would say any car should come with bluetooth and ipod free at this date and time.
These are really hard and expensive to retrofit nicely after you get the car.
To retrofit all that stuff it will cost you more than 2k.

You can go through the aux input with and analog stereo mini jack but the sound
quality is poor an you won't have ipod control except through the ipod itself.
