How low do you guys go....

no not what your thinking...but wondered how low on the mileage range do you guys drive up until before filling up normally.

I hear people say its bad for the fuel bump drivng under 20 miles remaining etc, but sometimes I drive up until 10 miles left...only bcos theres so many petrol stations in london..and that i feel lazy sometimes

On my '95 525i (E34), the fuel pump was located inside the gas tank. IF the fuel pump is located inside the E90 tank...and I don't know if it is...then driving the tank "empty" might be an issue. I say this because it is my understanding that cooling for the pump is provided by the gasoline that surrounds it in the tank. So as the pump becomes "exposed"...the tank getting empty...the cooling is reduced. I would think that the newer cars would handle the cooling different....but I don't know that.

Having said all that...I typically run the tank till the "low fuel" light comes on (50-70 miles ?), then get gas next time I'm around my usual gas station.

Usually fill up with 50 miles or so left. Here's a pic I took in my s2000 when I was on the way to a gas station.

between three quarters and a half a tank. I don't use the car much during the week so when I'm bored on the weekend I go and put 20-35 bucks in.

I fill up when it chimes at me or I come across cheap premium at a Cbevron gas station.

I usually drive until its empty, or close to it. No point in filling up any earlier.
