E90 with idrive climate control panel removal

Hi guys, long time viewer first time poster.

Does anyone have the faintest idea of how to remove the climate control panel from an e90?

I've managed to pry it away from the dash slightly but then it stops after about ten mil and won't budge.

It may be that I have to remove the brushed aluminium trim from round the heater vents first but just wondered if anyone had done this before I start dismantling the car for no reason.

Only reason I want it out is because I've bought a new style heater control module with single operation for temperature control, so that when you want to change his and hers temp you only have to alter the one side.

Thanks guys.
