Has anyone else kicked off the inside rocker panel before?

I accidentally knocked mine with my foot and now it pops off pretty easily. The BMW mechanic was telling me car was crashed because that panel should never come off.

Oh, most likely the previous owner (assuming your car is used) replaced it with an upgraded door trim previously (a popular mod), and during installation wrecked some of the clips making them loose.
