Are false TPMS warnings common?

Because I keep getting them. Wonder how I'll react when I get an actual flat

I don't know if they actually even work as I've never lost air. The only way we know that they're supposedly working, is that we don't have a warning.

But when I put my snows on without tpms, the warning stays on all winter. When I switch back, it takes like 7 min. of driving before the warning goes away.

I have 1 tire that gets low about every week it's very accurate. But I have an 06 which doesn't use tpms so it is most likely different.

Only if you are losing air in one of the tires.

Not common at all, the TPM system BMW uses from BERU has a very low failure rate so its 99.9% chance that the air pressure is just close enough to the threshold to trigger the system.

If you keep getting TPMS notifications after switching wheels, it's also possible that it's not the senors in the wheels, but one of the receivers in the fenders. My right rear receiver in the rear fender cracked and got water in it. Dealer replaced under warranty.
