programmable button reponse right after startup
Hi everyone. I drive an '08 335i coupe with i-drive. Was hoping to find out if others face the same issue: In the first 30 seconds or so after I start my car, the car does not respond to pushes of the programmable buttons 1-6 . I have them set to either FM stations or Sirius stations. I have to wait around 30 seconds after ignition before I can change the FM/Sirius station. Usually when this happens, I am unable to adjust the volume as well. Thanks in advance for the insight.

I get this as well. It's quite annoying.

Sometimes, My Idrive lags up as well; Can't adjust volume, Change the Station.. As with most computers and technology, it happens once in a while. After a minute or two it goes away, so I don't think its a serious issue. Inconvenient, Yes. Unbearable, No.
This is just a theory, but I think that this happens when the Idrive is having trouble reading the Navigation Disc at first, as that can happen once in a while as well.

I beleive it may have to do with the TCU module. I always have an error logged about a bluetooth error connection.
Sometimes it will freeze up completely and I have to manually reset the iDrive. |
