2006 E90 330xi Won't start

This is the second time this has happened now. Everytime we get a big rainfall, my car just will not start. I put the key in which turn on the radio, but when I hit the start button, I do not get anything. No fans, lights, etc. Eventally the radio will just turn on. Last night I was able to get it started by resetting the bettery about 5 times and waiting a couple hours.

I went to start it this morning after sitting in the garage all night and no dice. It does the same thing. I am not able to get it started to even put into N so I can at least get it on a flatbed to bring to the dealer. At this point I have no idea what it is or what I am going to need to do to get it started. I'd love to be able to just drive it out to the dealer tomorrow if all possible!

Time for a new battery.

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger

The battery checked out fine. They replaced the IBS module and ran a ton of diagnostics. They think they fixed it, but still aren't 100%. I am driving the car now, but won't know much until we get another heavy rain.

I finally have the car back. They replaced the IBS module and said they "think" it fixed the issue. I haven't had any problems yet, but will keep posting if it happens again.

There's also a known issue where the battery cable going from the battery to fuse box in the cabin is faulty. Actually the connection behind the fuse box is faulty.

It will behave the same way you're describing. There's a TSB out for it. Dealer should be able to pull it up.

Not sure if it pertains to your vehicle though. I forget the date range.
