335is still has HPFP issues
Apparently Im the first one to have HPFP problems. Been having long cranks and such in the morning and sometimes during mid day. Anyway car threw 2 HPFP codes.
Brought it into the dealer today and they confirmed everything, they replaced the HPFP. 2011 335is with 2,100 miles on it.. |

I'm seriously tired of hearing this shit... I'm about to waste my whole life trying to get a car that's very expensive, and I have to be paranoid about it going into limp mode?
Do the M3 owners have shit like this to worry about? I doubt it... Sorry for my rant, but I'm just sick of this issue... it hasn't been resolved, yet.

I'm happy to hear that!
I might just have to wait twice as long, and get an M3. @ OP, hope it's just a one time thing for your car, and you don't have to experience it again! GL!

If you are trying to save money to get a relatively expensive car, I do suggest either the M3, Cayman S, C63, ISF.
These are all better alternatives than the 335 when it comes to reliability. It may have problems as to the electronics, and other minor stuff, but not such that your car won't run. Some people rely on the 10 year warranty, but frankly I will not buy a product and fear that I have to fix it into something that it OUGHT to have been to begin with. My opinion: the HPFP issue sucks, hence the 335 was never on my list. |

I don't know jack shit about cars, but I'll take an educated guess:

We live in a world driven by software. Software is created by pretty smart people, but that doesn't mean they do a good job. They do what they're asked of.
My 335i was undriveable for 6 mos., and finally the dealership had it for 2 weeks and a 2 days, and scratched their heads in wonder for the first 5 of those days. That was in 2010--wouldn't ordinary people say how could that be? It's just a car. It was fixed after a PUMA case was opened, and at least from a msrp list price it cost someone a pretty penny. It has been reliable now for 15 months. btw my car has never had a hpfp replaced and it's a 2007. My point is nobody really cares, from BMW to the dealership to really people who lease these cars. It's like if the lightbulb blows, replace the lightbulb. If it blows again, replace the lightbulb. If it blows again, replace the lightbulb. If it blows again, label the lamp as defective and give the owner 60% of what he paid and call it a day. The fact that this happened in Orlando where there are many lightning strikes and that the building ground was not properly setup, well, who cares, that's the root cause and not something we're going to get into. That's BMW, who cares about the root cause, take the least costly action. |

The good news is the dealer fixed it right away cause when I started getting long cranks on my 135i, the SA tried telling me it was normal on a 2 year old car until I demanded to speak to his boss

I'd rather have an AW e92 M3, and I haven't driven either one (or seen many pictures of the S4 modified let alone peep the interior).

Sorry to derail OP, but I'm going to be straight with xquisit - the M3 is a great car, and the current M3s are arguably the best cars BMW has ever made, but you seriously need to reign in your desires about a car that you flat out cannot afford. Many people will say "you're young do whatever you want I did the same thing in your situation," but I guarantee that they've regretted every minute of their decision after the honeymoon period ended, regardless of what they post here. A car's nice, but wouldn't you rather have financial security? I mean, a car can't feed or house you. I'm sorry for being harsh on you, but... it just isnt worth it. I earn 60 a year at 24 and I'm stressed out about having purchased a CPO car. Just giving it to you straight. Again, sorry to the OP for derailing. |

It's terrible that BMW hasn't fixed this issue with the amount of cars that are having problems.
I have been running Tpx fuel additive in my car ever since the first gas tank...and i swear by it. it is the ONLY synthetic fuel additive- NON petrolium based- and although it doesn't have a big following in the small engine market I know it is my solution to keep the fuel pump and entire fuel system operating 100%. Sorry about your problems, and I seriously hope it doesn't happen to my ride. I picked my 2011 335is up with 5 miles on it "new" the first week it came out and I have 17,000 miles on it...without a single hickup or problem (fingers crossed) |

To the OP, wow! that sucks about the HPFP. I was beginning to think that this issue was not as frequent anymore with the 446 and later pumps. Makes me nervous about the 335is I am picking up in a week or so. |
