Replace Run Flats on 328i

Hello,

I have a 2007 328i with the sports package.
The only tires I have ever used on the car are the Bridgestone RFT's.
I do like the overall performance of the tires but as we know they can be really harsh over bumps and pretty high noise level starting around 15000 miles although tire life has not been bad 25000 plus.
Looking for suggestions on possible non-RFT's keeping in mind the sport suspension.
Will consider both summer tires and all season although leaning towards all season. In the ideal world (probably hard to come by ) looking for long lasting, great performance, relatively quiet and reasonably priced tires. Performance at the top of the list

Any suggestions/comments would be appreciated
Thanks

I've been very happy with Nitto Invo's on my 330i ZSP, so much so that I put them on my wife's car as well. While I never really push the car hard in terms of performance driving, they feel nice and grippy to me, although they are certainly more compliant than the RFTs, so you lose a bit of feel in the corners.

However, the best thing about these tires, which is the reason that I am only going to put these tires on my car from now on is the ride and the low noise. The ride quality vs RFT's is like having a whole new car - and the road noise even after 5-6k miles is better than it has ever been with this car. It sounds like exaggeration, but RFT's at least on the 2006 models ruined the car. Non-RFT are the way to go.

If you opt for an A/S tire, I've got nothing but praise for the Conti Extreme DWS tires mounted on my ZSP '08 128i. After about 11,000 miles, I project about 30k miles treadlife for the rears and close to 50k for the fronts. And the price for 4 tires was $100 less than replacing only 2 of the OEM Goodyear RFTs.

For a summer performance tire, you might also consider the Conti DW and Michelin PS2.

agree on the Conti DW.

If you're considering summer tire, I've tried Sumitomo HTR III, very responsive and I managed 41k miles on them and may have been able to stretch them another 2-3k miles. They have a decent treadwear rating for a summer tire.

Currently have Conti DW, quieter than the Sumitomos, and they have an even higher treadwear rating than the Sumitomos. Also very lightweight, especially compared to runflats.

I only managed 32k on my standard Bridgestone summer runflats, and the fronts were nearly bald when I changed to Sumitomo. I think their treadwear rating is around half that of the Conti DW.

tirerack.com is a great resource for comparing specs and reading reviews from hundreds of folks.

Tad: Do you have a sedan or coupe?

328i sedans with ZSP come with 225/45/17 & 255/40/17. 328i coupes with ZSP come with 225/40/18 & 255/35/18.

The Conti DW's are a good choice if you prize ride and low noise more than crisp handling and feel.
The new Michelin Super Sport seem to be the best handling max perf summer tire, but Michelin doesn't make the 255/40/17 size for the rear of the sedans.
Michelin also makes the best RFT (the ZP), but only for the coupe.

We suggest Hankook Ventus V12.
If you have a little more money, Micheline PSS are nice too!

+1 on the Conti DWS for an all-season choice. It is a night and day difference compared to the stock RFTs. You'll give up a bit of turn-in responsiveness and ultimate grip for vastly improved noise and ride comfort, double the treadlife and all weather capability. To top it off, the cost is roughly half of the price of the stock rubber. I'll take $600 in my pocket and risk a flat.
