Road Trip Question

I ordered a e90 335i step zsp on 3/26, my question is that I am going to the Outer Banks in N.C. at the end of July. Should I be concerned about having a fuel pump issue or a over heating issue and take another car, or what. I live in Maryland and dont want to worry about my car breaking down. This is fuck up, you buy a 45k vehicle and your scared to drive it any where far because you think it might break down. Anyways, what do you guys think? Thanks.

I think whats fucked up is just because a few people have had problems with there car everyone is freaked out about there car breaking down..... Enjoy the car chances are you will have no problems and if you do BMW will take care of them for you.

I say if you had any reservations about the reliability of the vehicle, then maybe you should have made another choice. I'm driving over 750 miles back to NY from PCD at the end of the month. I'm bringing an extra quart of oil for insurance.

The only qualm that I have is parking it outside the motel the first night that I have it. If my wife wasn't joining me on the trip I would have probably planned to sleep in it.

+1

Hundreds, possibly thousands of members who have had no issue and a half dozen problems makes the car a ghetto POS.

I've made 3 trips of 500+ miles in the last 4 months with no issues. I also took an extra quart of oil just incase I ran low.

Im not trying to be an asshole about the reliability of our cars, but their has been some uncool shit happening to them. I love bmw just as much as the rest of you so I could never see myself in another type of car.

I say go ahead and enjoy the drive. I actually drove from Chicago to Cary,NC and back this past weekend. Total 2000+ miles and absolutely no problems. I have about 4600 miles on my Feb ED car. Redelivered 3/15. I had the same question in my mind...but then its in warranty and have the assist option in case of breakdown. and oh avg mpg on the nav was 25.7 with avg speed 69mph

Thanks guys, I probably will take it down there. I just have that thought of over heating and stuff in the back of my mind. Oh well.
