Audi Leather Interiors?
Hi Chaps,
I was having a look at a new Audi S3 Black today and couldn't believe how poor the leather interior quality is. It looked and felt as if they had found some leather scraps and UPVC glue, Stuck it in blender and created the seat covering. It's put me of all Audi's if thats the standard compared to BMW's |

It's nappa on the high end stuff (S and RS). It is lovely when new but VERY soft and requires lots of looking after. Hook the softness up with the mega bucketed seats and you start to see some really worn bolsters on reasonably young cars which is a shame.
Well the BMW leather isn't as soft it's more hard wearing and I'd say therefore keeps the interiors looking newer for longer. |

I had nappa in my TT and it was far superior to my BMW.
Had it a number of years and it lasted well with minimum wear on the bolster. |

The lower quality leather is not exclusive to Audi.
Most all EU and JP manufacturers are moving production to Chinese plants recently. Honda used to use decent stuff - the seats in my S2000 were excellent and didnt wear at all - but they suffer all these same problems on new installations.

On my mk1 Audi tt te leather was great and looked like new after 5 years no creases. A friend also had the same car but traded it for a more modern a3 and said it was soft and creased easily.
