My 2 Day Old 335 Coupe Stalled and Leaking Lots of Gas WTF!!!
I picked up my new ride on Thurs. hoping to drive it all long weekend long. It was great, I loved everything about it. I went to pick up a couple friends to go out last night they were dying to see the car. I just pulled away from my buddies house I was in 2nd then all of a sudden we felt a jolt and I had no throttle response. They laughed thinking I stalled it, but I was no where near the clutch. Sure enough it was stalled. I tried restarting 2 or 3 times but nothing! Got out of the car and there was huge puddle of gas on the shoulder!! WTF!! I looked under car and it was dripping from behind the right front (passenger) wheel. BMW assist had it towed. I am pissed the car barely has 400 kms!! Is this a sign of things to come? Should I expect compensation from the dealership?

Sorry dude no pics, i was too pissed/concerned to take any. I dont' think it' a fuel pump issue. No reports of gas leaking with fuel pumps. At least what I could find. No i'm not a troll, I just want a place to vent and find solice. Some pre PDI pics:

Could you have ran over something that punctured the fuel tank?

I think I could have ran over something but, maybe too far forward for gas tank. Maybe it could been a fuel line that got punctured or loose. And all of that gas may have been from the fuel pump pressurizing the lines when I was trying to restart it?? I hope it is a simple fix.

I could be mistaken, but I believe someone else had this happen to them after they got their car. It happened over a year ago (?). Had something to do with a reservoir plug?

The 230s rock.
Fuel line popped off somewhere -- track the diagram on OEMparts.com Embarrassing to have this happen to you with a carload of friends, but it could happen to any new car. I had a similar experience, but it involved mice gnawing a hole through the fuel line out of the fuel pump on my old E46.

No official updates. I swung by the dealership today, and it appears that it only leaked gas when i tried starting it. I also looked under the car and it seems to be dripping from just behind the front wheels (right around where the engine meets the tranny.
Also, there is no wa anything could have jumped up off of the road, that whole area is covered with plastic. Hopefully just a loose fuel line connection |

I got it back yesterday. They said it was a loose fittment in the fuel supply line. Something that wasn't done properly during production. Hope this is the only thing that wasn't done proper during production.

I had a feeling shit like this was going to happen because these cars are selling like hotcakes and they cannot keep up with the demand. I hope we don't see more crap like this happening.
