CO: Track time...

Thought I would let y'all know that I'll be out & about at the track a few times over the next couple of months. Would love to meet you out there! In most cases, I'll be in my new E36 M3... except for Porsche Ladies Day.

July 15: Lapping Day @ HPR
July 16: Porsche Ladies Day @ HPR
*** Gents, this is your opportunity to get the women in your life hooked on driving! ***
*** Registration is open on Motorsportsreg.com and is only $85 ***
August 5: Lapping Day @ HPR
August 20-21: NASA @ HPR

Also, this weekend is the NASA event at PPIR. They're running it backwards. If you don't have plans, I'm sure they'd love some extra company. There's even a bbq, beers & fireworks Saturday night after the track goes cold.

Cheers!

I'll be at Ladies' Day (and President's Day the day after), and NASA @ HPR. Still not sure about open lapping days. Wheel-to-wheel is just a bit much for my daily driver.

Thanks for the dates, want to get out there. Is the PCA ladies day open to BMWs I assume?

Also, side question - do you or anybody you know of have aftermarket seats like Pole Positions in the car? Thinking about doing it but need to try out some seats first.

Ilis, we need to meet up at some point and compare my Akra and your Performance exhaust. Dying to hear the difference.

Yep! No SUVs, minivans or trucks. Any other car is fair game though.

I don't.

John told me the Performance Exhaust sounded wicked. This coming from a guy who just jumped into a Boss 302.

Will be fun to be out there with you! Of course we'll have the trailer. Husband is looking forward to checking everyone's tire pressure & taking care of us.

Awww, come on... You may not realize it, but you're doing wheel-to-wheel with NASA and other sactioned events. You know there aren't races or timing at lapping days, right? It's just go out & drive when you want, come in when you want. Much more relaxed IMHO,

All women, all cars.

I am seriously looking at this atm. M3 seats may have adjustable wings to hold you in, but all my seat is doing is bruising my side/back during the hard cornering as I get faster. I'll probably have to ace bandage my ribs for ladies' day. Time to look at replacing the seats and getting harnesses, or getting a track-specific car!

I'd love to hear your Akra, as that was my alternative choice. I love the performance exhaust! People say it sounds amazing on the track, but all I can tell is that I can finally hear the car and don't have to look at the tach just to see how I'm revving. It did sound amazing in the canyons and tunnels though on the BMWCCA Spring Drive.

Okay, I'll think about it. The Bimmer Haus guys were encouraging me to join them a few weeks ago, but scheduling wasn't working for me. I have to say, though, that NASA HPDE 1-3 (and BMWCCA B and PCA at least through blue) have point-by-only passing in restricted passing zones. That's a bit different from open passing everywhere, where point-by is considered a courtesy only. That's what gives me pause, especially when I'm still on street tires.

Looking forward to seeing you at HPR!

I've done open lapping at HPR. It is much less structured than a CCA or similar event but they still divide into groups and do point by passing. There are the occasional more aggressive/stupid people out there that may try to pass in unexpected areas but they are easy to spot. It is a great opportunity to just get out and drive.

Cool What is HPR?

Most of dnvrdrvr's track dates are at HPR. There's no secret why: It's a GREAT TRACK! Here's a turn-by-turn intro to HPR, for those who are curious but aren't sure.

Just a reminder there are still a couple of events:

September 3: Lapping Day @ Pueblo (Military charity event by FAASST, $100)

September 25: RMC BMW CCA DE @ HPR. Registration is almost full, so sign up NOW if you want to attend. $165 and you get an instructor all day - well worth the $$ in my opinion.

October 8-9: NASA @ Hastings ($189/day, $299 for the weekend). This was moved from Pueblo because they're starting the repaving project - new track surface for next year!!

Happy Friday everyone!
