How to identify a car has LSD?

I remember seeing a post regards how to identify "LSD".

If a "S" logo on the diff case; it has a LSD in it.

Or with rear end on the air. If wheels spin in same direction, no LSD?
If wheels spin in different direction, has LSD?

Am I correct?

Lift the rear of the car, and if both wheels spin in the same direction you have a clutch type limited slip. An open differential will turn the wheels in opposite directions.

I see... I am sure E90 has no LSD.
This morning I raised up the rear end, and the wheels spin opposite direction.

When I had DTC on this morning, I could be 2 tire lines on the ground when I took off. So I thought I have a LSD in it.
My sold GTi has one in it, and the performance was day and night.

Are there any aftermarket LSD? Is it difficult to install as the FF cars?

umm, a LSD is kinda hard to make for a car, i guess there would be some aftermarket ones.

Should be easier to install than a FF car.

LSD does make hard on street cars. My Gti had a bent sub frame after I installed the LSD, and I had to swap out the sub frame.

LSD, aka "acid," is odorless, colorless, and has a slightly bitter taste
and is usually taken by mouth. And it makes you go CRAZZZZZY???

LSDs are found primarily in trucks and muscle cars with a solid rear axle. This is because they usually cause excessive wheel hop in vehilces with an independant rear suspention, which the E90 has. Ask any guy with a 2003 Cobra if he likes his LSD w/o a solid axle...

The E90 is designed for smooth power delivery, acceleration, fantastic cornering, and exceptional braking. This is why it also has the CDV to smooth out the shifts for people that don't have allot of experience with manual transmissions. You bought a sports SEDAN, not a sports car. If you wanted a clutch dropping, tire smoking, power shifting, 2nd and 3rd chirping horsepower monster you should have gotten one of the new Mustang GT's. You'd be pulling 0-60 in 4.8 seconds and crying at the gas pump. You traded a little sport for allot of comfort by buying a sports sedan. Find yourself a curvy mountain road and enjoy the car for what it is; as you watch the Mustangs disappear in your rear view mirror.

I gave my car LSD once, but it totally freaked out. It started halucinating and thought it was seeing pink elephants in the garage. Had to sit up with it all night and try to keep it calm. I'll never let the car have LSD again. It's okay now, except for the occasional flashback.

So LSD = muscle car? You obviously have no idea about what an LSD does. The single most frurstrating thing when you bring a non-M Bimmer to track/autoX is when coming out of a corner, watching your revs go sky high but the car would not accelerate away.

Open diff SUCKS.
