News about BMW ConnectedDrive

Guys...for your info:

From 30th June 2011 the BMW ConnectedDrive Online Portal will be updated to include a new and improved layout that can be customised to meet your own personal requirements. The most common functions such as News, Weather and Google local search will be found on the BMW Online main screen. All further services will be located within the “Apps”category. Within this category you will be able to add in future services as well as remove services that are not relevant to you. Furthermore, a new “Recently used Apps” category will be available to help find frequently used services quickly and easily. These improvements will allow BMW Online to offer an even more flexible and user-friendly interface for both BMW drivers and passengers.

And being quite new to all this should I be able to carry out this update myself from the car? Or is it a trip to the dealer?

Yes - I was wondering which i-drive versions will benefit - I have a 2009 car so nit the latest internet access.

Just been out to the car to see if there was any difference in the ConnectedDrive Online Portal - Nothing....

Guess its not ready quiet yet. I'm new to BM's too, but would feel a tad annoyed if it had to go to a dealer to get this. I presume that as the car 'looks' at a BMW website any changes are their end...

Its now live on my iDrive:

No great revolution to be fair... Under apps I have things like my RSS feeds.

Just had a few minutes to check. It does do it automatically. I like it. Looks cleaner.

It does look better - I'm just gutted i ordered before internet option was available... oh well you cant have it all....
