Stone chips - what do you do to your's?
Hello guys iv picked up a few stone chips (who hasnt!) and i want to know the best idea's/cheapest methods of repair, including recommended products/people/places. my car is alpine white so im guessing very easy to blend. the stone chips themselves are black (plastic) on the bumper, and silver (metallic) on the bonnet.
help & suggestions please - this thread might help others too.... |

Tricky with white using this method but I picked up a couple on the bonnet from one hit the other day and just grabbed a blue whiteboard marker out of the office, dabbed the chips until the colour had sort of filled then just wiped with a cloth to remove the excess. Gone
:edit: Continuing the office products as car repair theme, have you tried Tippex? |

LOL!
Just get a paint chip repair kit from the dealer. Dab on using a toothpick, let it dry, build into the chip in stages until overfilled. Then once dry, cut it back with some polish. |

I just bought Dr colorchip. Check out the link below. Seems to work great. A friend used it and I could not tell where he used it. They match your paint according to your color code.

I had the same questions until I saw it in person on my friends car. The key is in following the directions to the T. I wanted something that could give me a lot of coverage for my beat up by rock chips front bumper.

Even if it's a bit off topic, but after having repaired the stone chips you may want to think of a permanent protection against them, such as Paintshield. I've had the whole front of my car protected since last December, and it looks really good.
