Remapping a 330d 6sp Manual. Any Problems?

Thinking of remapping my 330d. Has anyone had any problems? Interested in any problems you may have had after several thousand miles.

Also, has anyone remapped a 330d Manual? I understand the gearbox may not be able to take the torque, is this true?

Cheers.

Yep, I pay for the extended warranty. Doesnt sound like a good idea to remap then?

I've had no problems whatsoever, got an Evolve Map and it makes a big difference.

Steve.

i have had an e-maps map on mine for about 30,000 miles and not had a single problem. Reputable mappers will not "overmap" a manual car with a generic map. they can map the auto harder due to the stronger gearbox. see someone decent, evolve, e-maps, superchips seem to be the favourite 3 on here. my money went to simon at emaps.

Cheers for your replies chaps. Its a toss up between getting a remap or going for a 335d. However I'm not so keen on the idea of an auto 'box. Mind you, the missus isnt keen on me getting a remap. Shame they dont do a manual 335d.

The 330d manual responds well to a remap.

I can recommend the Evolve map.

330d manual here, with remap and no problems at all - if anything its a whole lot better than it ever was now.

Why would you want to tell the missus, women generally don't understand about maps. I appreciate that some do!

Sorry to Hijack the thread but may aswell ask as its on a similar vein. I have a 330d E92 Auto box, is it worth doing the remap on that? Seems quite strong on pulling already to be fair. Had a 320 E46 2004 remapped by chippeduk about 5 years ago and it made a big difference as it was a little weak after 4000 rpm. But this 330d (2007) pulls like a train already so not sure that difference it will make for the cash.

To the OP if it makes the same difference as the 320 had after the map then its defo worth it, pulled all the way to the red line and flew.

If I went for a remap it would probably be a evolve switch. Trouble is the missus would notice the 500 odd quid missing from the bank account!

[QUOTE=Hotcoupe;9901490]Smiffy's 330D tourer mapped by Simon of E-Maps:

Ian - Thanks for posting up - was about to do it myself!

Dopper - As above post reveals, Simon at emaps did the biz. Only cost me £250 (Group buy) and definitely the best 'mod' I think for the money. Mine's a manual as was my previous E46 330d and neither motor has ever shown any problems whatsoever as a result of re-mapping!
