Car detailed Today

Ive had my car detailed today on the paintwork as over the years previous to me buying it the car had been washed with sandpaper and harsh chemicals and was close to having a respray but this guy did an excellent job at a excellent price but its been booked in for the past 6 weeks due to demand.

I will get some more pics when its better weather hopefully this week but these will give you an idea how bad it was and how good it now is.

He charged me £140 with £10 discount as i had to leave work so it did not get washed off but looks mint.
He started at 8-15 and worked on it till 5-30 and said it was one of the worst he had seen.

This is a good price! Most detailers charge way above that! (or at least the one's that I've been researching do).

awesome

bargin relative speaking to hours and labour spent. but charging that and get volume i think is away forward for some detailers as i sure wouldn't spend anything more for a detail (but that's me)

fair play to him. book mark this for sure, even worth a trip up from south ;-)

would be interesting to see pics under lighting

Looks the part now.

I guess you were using drive through car washes before?

Not as bad as the labourer that washed our pool car with industrial strength Techniclean and a hand brush full of swarf. The paint was ruined.

Or my mates wife who used a scouring pad to get the flies off the bonnet. Came in boasting how well it worked and looked. Once it dried the damage was there to see.

when ii can get to my mates garage i will take a few pics under his flourescent lighting but the first shots were in natural daylight.

The price was just for my paintwork detailing but as stated it was bad and the guy knew it would be a full day but is very paitent and enjoys the end result especially when it starts off so bad and finishes like it did.

i have never been through the car wash but the scratches were in line with the flow of the body so its more likely to be a bad hand wash place but previous to me owning the car.

140 quid for that is brilliant. Everyone I seem to find wants 500 quid to do it and won't do it without spending hours poncing around with various waxes - all I want is the paint correction, I am happy to wax it myself..
