335i 3yo prices

Hi.

Anyone know whats the going price for a 335i

36k miles
Prof Nav
19" wheels
Leather

Parkers says £19800 for Auto
Slightly more for the DKG gearbox dual clutch semi

Obviously a little more from main dealer but even their prices seem stupidly spread out. £22k to £25k for pretty much same car.

In this market what should i be paying do you think?

Derpends. Is it saloon or coupe?. Is it SE or M Sport version. What is the colour combination?

What is the condition, mint? or just good condition?

Does it have a new AUC warranty, as at 3 years old it will just be out of BMW warranty (same as my 08 car)

E92 M Sport Mint condition i expect at 36k!

Would need to be extended bmw warranty or Used car warranty.

Dont think you would get new car warranty at 3yo?

I guess a minter with an AUC warranty is gonna be at least £22.5k on a dealer forecourt, and about £21k private if it has a high spec and a nice colour combination.

335i are not selling well at the moment due to fuel prices etc so I imagine a stock car would have a lot of negotiation.

I paid just under £21K for mine at the weekend.

57 (Feb 08), Saloon
30K
Leather + pro sat Nav
Le-mans Blue with cream/white leather
12months road tax + dealers going to sort out number plate transfer

You're not wrong, theres ones at my local dealers (Leicester)...

57 (sep 07), Saloon
14K
Leather + pro sat Nav
Le-mans Blue with black leather

For just under £22K...when had i a look before, the saleman was trying to do the old pressure sell, telling me how so many people had been interested and if i walked away it'll probably be sold by the end of the day....that was 3-4 weeks ago and its still there

I didn't go for it cos i didn't want black leather and the rear tyres were wearing down and the saleman refused to even entertain the idea of replacing them

As soon as I saw "my" 335i come up on the dealer network i called up the same day to put a deposit down...they must have thought it was xmas, no wonder they gave me a good trade in for my Z

Well the 2 choices i have so far are the 335i or the Z4 30si or 35si

The Z4 wont be 3 yrs old till next yr so i might have to wait until i get the cash together for one of those, there seems to be the odd bargain around on the 335i i might wait till December when no ones buying cars and really twist their arm.

Looking at cars for sale some dealers must be dreaming! There are 2007 cars 12 months older priced at 2008 car prices... am i right in saying that you get the DVD idrive system in 2007 and the HDD in 2008?

Not necessarilly,... I believe the HDD based system wasn't available until the 58 reg, ie: from September 2008.

Well I know the M3 comes with the HDD from the start of the 58reg, perhaps other 3series variants got the new format later...

The new idrive is great, it was a requirement for me when I replaced my car
  • It looks a lot nicer than the old one, the interface is better & it's more responsive.
  • Faster route calculations
  • Bigger map
  • 3D perspective maps
  • Multiple route options
  • New controller with shortcut buttons
  • etc...

You can't put speed cameras on it though

Its supposed to be a serious upgrade from CCC to CIC Prof Nav.

I could leave the DVD nav out the car if the price was right but i wouldnt want to leave out the CIC version.

i just cant find solid info on when cars started showing up with the new CIC version

He is wrong. All Coupes built after September 08 have HDD nav. The confusion is because a lot of the cars registered after 08 - infact most of them - were built before Sep 08 despite being registered after.

I have just bought an October 08 E92 with HDD iDrive, so I guarantee I am right

Thats good news.

I just heard there are no speed camera warnings on the Idrive nav?

WTF? is this true?

335i and no speed camera warnings is a bad combination

December might be better than January as dealers will need to hit their sales targets for the end of the quarter. In addition, you may be able to negotiate hard as in January, the car will become another year older

Simply turn off that rubbish system, and get a touch screen TomTom. Or better still buy a cheaper 335i with out nav. The professional hifi shows all the other functions (ipod, usb album and track, plus all onboard computer functions, and check control)
Save a couple of grand on purchace price, then spend £130 on a TomTom - Win!!
